Factors dependent on “How much do ServiceNow Developers make”! 

Number of Modules

The number of modules does matter but after a certain level of experience. If you are in the initial years of your career, this factor does not matter at all. By the initial years, I mean the range of 0-3 years. 

But if your experience is in the range of 3-5 years, this factor is somehow considered but people who usually have ITSM+1 Module by this experience are considered to have a positive approach. Now if your experience is more than 5 years, this factor should not be neglected. It becomes a significant factor out there while you are in the process of the interview. The more modules you have in your bucket, the better it is for you.

Certifications

Certifications as such are not so mandatory at any level which is a good thing. But I have seen recruiters or senior officials asking for it. Not only that, but sometimes it becomes a screening thing as based on the certifications you have done, you will be given the chance to appear for the technical interview.

So if you are in the initial years, CSA (Certified System Administrator) certification is highly recommended.

But if your experience is more than 3 years, then I would ask you to appear for CAD (Certified Application Developer) and CIS (Certified Implementation Specialist) certification in any of the modules you have worked on.

Negotiation Skills 

This is such an underrated discussion. But I believe it should be done.

It not only boosts your chance towards the higher ServiceNow developer salary range for that experience level but also tells you that the budget can be tweaked here and there so that you can be hired.

Interview 

According to me, this is the most important factor out there and we all know that. 

This is the only reason I say: “Improve your skills, then you don’t need to worry How much do ServiceNow Developers make”. Yes, it follows. By interview skills, I mean the most important things being asked in the interviews :

• ServiceNow Scripting 
• Two Modules (Could be ITSM+1)

I strongly recommend working on your skills because then all the other factors usually do not play an important role. The organizations will any which way try their best to hire you and they will hire you on their higher range.

Total Experience 

This is one factor where you cannot do much about it. But believe me, this plays an important role, especially in deciding your salary range. The bracket in which your experience falls plays a crucial role as HRs and the leadership who usually do not take your interview have the idea on this basis. Hence it is important as well.
